Nicki Minaj gave three fans the surprise of a lifetime while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday (Sept. 4). Near the end of the episode, Nicki and Ellen pulled three fans out of the audience to give them each $50,000 to help pay off their student loans.

In partnership with Wal-Mart, Nicki and Ellen gave Jacob Peterson, Lauren Wakefield and Chrissy Draper a total of $150,000 to go towards their education. The three students, who attend colleges across the nation and study everything from music to neurosurgery, were overcome with emotion when given the checks.

Nicki is no stranger to funding education. Back in July, she announced that she'd chosen the 37 recipients of her Student of the Game Scholarships. In winning the scholarship, Nicki promised to fund everything to send the students to college, including tuition, books and living expenses. While on Ellen, she said that one student, who's name started with a J, never got back to her about the scholarship.

Nicki's appearance on Ellen was noteworthy for not just philanthropic reasons. When asked about her ongoing beef with Travis Scott over his album outpacing hers for No. 1, Nicki told the veteran television host that she wanted to "punch him in the fucking face."

She also discussed the nature of some of her high-profile relationships, saying her time with Meek Mill was a "toxic something," but that they had good times. She also said she has a new man in her life at the moment, but didn't divulge any names.
