Obie Trice believes some people are watering down hip-hop by their fashion choices and overall aesthetic. It's something the rapper conveyed in his new song "Truth 2 Power," and he didn't pull any punches.

"These n----- ain't even real nowadays," says someone before the song starts. "I remember the sh-- back in the day when it was actually real hip-hop. These n----- is wearing dresses ... I don't really understand it. I don't really get it ... N----- is trying to be Jamal from Empire."

Then afterwards, the Detroit MC directed more lyrics at the current rap generation and again, he didn't hold back.

"Yellow backs with jeans squeezing their penises /  And we supposed to receive them as rap geniuses / Oh, we supposed to believe what n----- feeding us / When they're sweeter than JuJus, Reese's Pieces," he spits.

It's been a while since we've heard from Mr. Trice, but his Cheers LP did make our 20 underrated rap albums list a couple of years ago. He was also named in our list of 25 rappers who've been shot during their lifetime.

Now we'll have to see if Obie is dropping a new album soon or plans to release any more singles. You can listen to "Truth 2 Power" below.
