ORIGINAL STORY:

OMB Peezy is reportedly on the mend after being shot on Monday night (March 4) following a concert performance in his hometown of Mobile, Ala.

Peezy himself confirmed the news after he jumped onto Instagram story earlier today. "Bitch ass nigga shot me," he said in his Instagram story.

While the exact details of the shooting aren't known, Peezy was scheduled to perform as an opener for Boosie BadAzz at Mobile, Ala.'s Soul Kitchen last night. In a video from the scene, which was provided byTwitter user @Saycheese_Media, we can see two men laying down on the ground outside of the venue as emergency medics help what the account claims are victims of the shooting. Reps for Peezy tell XXL that the rapper is "doing okay."

The shooting comes at the worst possible time for the 22-year-old rapper. Peezy just released a video for his latest single "No Keys" featuring G-Eazy. With that single at his back, Peezy is set to continue to do big things. While he's been hit with a setback, it appears that he's okay.

With his combination of passionate lyrics and memorable delivery, Peezy has solidified himself as one of the faster-rising names to come out of Alabama. In a 2017 interview with XXL, Peezy said his goal was to bring the realness back to hip-hop.

"Niggas don't even be talking about shit. Niggas don't be saying nothing," he said at the time. "I'm trying to change it back to some shit that means something. Muthafuckas' grandma is sick and shit, niggas got people dying and shit, niggas don't want to listen to no mumble rap."
