Red Cafe has gotten caught up in some legal drama for an overdue rental car.

On Monday morning (June 10), TMZ reported that the Brooklyn rapper was arrested for vehicle theft in Beverly Hills, Calif. last week. Law enforcement sources tell the celebrity gossip site that police got a report about a stolen 2018 Chevy Impala rental that was parked on a street. Officers reportedly saw Red Cafe hop into the Impala and make an attempt to drive away. That's when they pulled him over and arrested him on the spot.

The rapper apparently rented the car himself but he reportedly didn't bring it back in time. Red Cafe was purportedly taken into custody on a felony count of unlawful taking/driving of a vehicle. The celebrity news site says he was later released on a $25,000 bond.

This comes a year after the "God Wanted Us to Be Lit" rapper dodged a criminal conviction in New York City. Back on July 19, 2017, Red Cafe was stopped in Manhattan for not wearing a seatbelt and police discovered that he was operating his 2008 Cadillac Escalade with a suspended license. During the traffic stop, police also retrieved two bags of weed in his glove compartment along with a gravity knife elsewhere in the vehicle.

Red Cafe, born Jermaine Denny, was ultimately charged with unlicensed operation of a vehicle, unlicensed driving, marijuana possession and felony possession of a weapon. However, his legal team argued that the knife and drugs did not belong to the rapper since he has a driver and leaves the vehicle in New York while living in Florida. Cafe ended up pleading guilty to disorderly conduct in Manhattan Criminal Court April 11, 2018, and was ordered to stay out of trouble as a condition of the deal.

Red Cafe is due back in court on the unlawful taking of a vehicle charge next month.
