Sage the Gemini has proven to be rap's latest success story as he found a way to take his debut single to platinum status.

The California rapper gave ratchet music fans a new anthem when he dropped 'Gas Pedal' featuring IAmSu! on March 21 last year. Now, the song sits with more than 1,000,000 digital sales and reigns on YouTube with more than 34 million views in less than a year.

Peaking at No. 4 on Billboard's Hot Rap Songs chart, the 21-year-old rhymer quickly found a way to make a name for himself, enough to push his sophomore single, 'Red Nose,' to sell over 500,000 digital copies and receive nearly 30 million YouTube views in seven months. He earns a gold certification for that track.

Already remixing 'Gas Pedal' with musical bad boy Justin Bieber, there's no telling what barriers Sage might break next. So while 2014's "who to watch for" lists continue to circulate, the real task is looking to watch what this barely legal MC might offer next, especially with his upcoming debut LP, 'Remember Me,' set to hit stores and iTunes soon.
