When Lisa asked the Meijer employee to write on her cake, she had no idea that the finished product would turn into a heartwarming story that made that employees day.

Lisa writes that she didn't even look at the cake until it was time to pay, and even though the writing wasn't the best, she decided to keep it.

What she didn't know was that the person she asked to write on the cake has Autism, and her simple smile, and thank you probably went much further than she could imagine.

To my surprise, after they discussed it, one cashier put her arm on my shoulder and said "the girl who wrote that has Autism. Thank you for smiling and thanking her- even though she's not supposed to write on cakes, you probably made her day." So I guess the moral of the story is that kindness is important!
Lisa posted a follow up to her story to let everyone know that the employee didn't get into any trouble for writing on the cake.
I'm guessing that the employee may even be getting some special requests for her to write on cakes in the future.
