RIP

As 2016 seems to be an unendingly cruel mistress, another beloved TV parent has left us behind. Alan Thicke, actor behind Growing Pains patriarch Jason Seaver has passed away at age 69. The acclaimed sitcom star had only days earlier made a surprise cameo in the second season of Netflix’s Fuller House.

Very sad news out of Japan: According to Mental Floss, Funai Electric, the last company making VCRs has announced that it will cease production of VCRs, “due to declining sales and difficulty acquiring parts.” Though effectively on life support for the last several years, the will mark the true and final death of the VCR, or video cassette recorder. It was 40 years old.

Sad news for fans of veteran actor and multiple Emmy-winner Doris Roberts, as the iconic Everybody Loves Raymond star has passed away. Apart from her famed role as Ray’s mother Marie Barone, Roberts is also remembered for her work on Broadway.

Nate Dogg passed yesterday morning at the age of 41.  Nate is known for working with Warren G, Snoop, Em, Dr. Dre, Fab, Luda and pretty much every other headlining artist in the game.  Nate suffered strokes strokes in '07 and '08 and had been battling health problems over the last 7 years.  Nathaniel D Hale will be missed by everyone in the music community.  Reminisce with some Nate Dogg videos.
