We may not have any Game of Thrones to look forward to in 2018, but HBO has plenty of other wares. See for yourself, as a new 2018 promo for the network brings us fresh Westworld Season 2 footage, a first look at Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects miniseries, Fahrenheit 451 and much more.
Westworld ambitiously sought to weave its first season across multiple timelines as an in-depth examination of robot consciousness, understandably leaving little room to answer every mundane question about the park. That said, producers promise Season 2 will show a bit more of the guests’ perspective, perhaps finally answering our burning questions.
Long before Westworld turned to be the hit HBO needed, viewers were at least onboard with the show’s iconic soundtrack, from orchestral covers of “Paint It Black,” to original compositions from the mind behind Game of Thrones’ music. Now, HBO releases the full roster of 30+ songs from Season 1 of Westworld, just enough to tide you over until 2018.
Long before we knew Westworld had the robot uprising in full swing by Season 1 finale “The Bicameral Mind,” or that Ed Harris’ Man in Black had a familiar alter-ego, we knew the character would be back for Season 2. Now, Harris previews his excitement for the “extreme mode” of Season 2, as well clarifying a few points of confusion from the finale.
Just when you thought Westworld had answered all the Season 1 questions it could, HBO seems to have thrown us one last riddle. A post-finale breakdown of the Delos corporation’s park websites may reveal a long-lost character surviving to return in Season 2.
Okay, so I guess William got that mole of his taken off at some point? Who knew he was so into cosmetic surgery? He should have gotten some plugs for that bald head of his while he was at it.
Another Westworld week, another hour bound to break your break brain by its many twists, but at least one immutable truth arrives next week: the end of Season 1. See for yourself, as narratives start to align in the season finale trailer of “The Bicameral Mind.”
