We may be just entering fall, but The-Dream is already looking forward to next year. While at the 2016 BET Hip-Hop Awards, the famed producer/singer/songwriter told Billboard this past weekend (Sept. 17) that his new album is due out in "early 2017."

"I’m finished with a new album," said Dream. "There’s an incredible song that me and Rick Ross did on the album. I think people are going to love it. I may put out a new EP before that but the new album will be slated at the top of [next] year."

Dream shared a snippet of that Rick Ross feature on Instagram back in May while it was still under construction in the studio. From the caption of that post, fans gathered that his next project would be called Love Affair, a continuation of Dream's love series. The-Dream's last piece of solo artwork was The Genesis visual album and EP, which dropped at the top of 2016. Before that, he dropped an EP called Crown in 2015. The-Dream's last studio album was 2013's IV Play.

Of course, Dream's craftsmanship behind the boards has been showing up all over hip-hop this year. The 39-year-old provided production and vocals to Kanye West's The Life of Pablo album earlier this year. Check out a snippet of The-Dream's new music in the IG post below.
