Like John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight, The Daily Show is settling in for the long haul. Comedy Central confirms Trevor Noah has extended his contract through at least 2022, with the the addition of annual year-end specials.

Having started the gig in September 2015 (boy, it’s been a long two years), Noah has added an additional five to his Daily Show hosting tenure, taking us into 2022. Not only that, but the network confirms Noah will produce and host annual year-end specials, starting this year, as “The Daily Show will no longer take for granted that humankind has made it to another December 31st and from here on out will celebrate in annual year-end specials.”

Noah expressed similar sentiments in announcing the news:

I’m thrilled to be continuing this amazing journey with both fans of The Daily Show and Comedy Central. It’s really exciting to renew this contract for either five more years or until Kim Jong Un annihilates us all–whichever one comes first.

Noah also won his first Emmy this past weekend for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series (a “Between the Scenes” digital exclusive), while the season will finish third among adults 18-49, ahead of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night With Seth Meyers and The Late Late Show With James Corden.

In the meantime, you can watch new Daily Show weeknights at 11:00 P.M., and stay tuned for companion series The Opposition With Jordan Klepper.
