Will Smith is truly a renaissance man. The West Philadelphia native is a successful rapper and television and movie star, but we're focusing on his music career in our worst-to-best ranking of all of his albums, both as a solo act and as half of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

As the Fresh Prince, Smith, along with his musical partner and fellow Philadelphian DJ Jazzy Jeff, achieved a crossover hit in 1988 with “Parents Just Don’t Understand," which made him a rap star. They followed it up with more hits, including "A Nightmare on My Street," "Summertime" and "Boom! Shake the Room."

During this time, he branched out into acting. He showed off his charisma and comic chops on his iconic sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (with its hilarious theme song), which ran from 1990 to 1996. He then made the jump to the big screen, starring in a plethora of top-selling movies including the Men In Black and Bad Boys franchises.

In 1997, Smith returned to rapping, now as a solo act, and garnered more success with such hits as “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It,” "Just the Two of Us," "Wild Wild West" and "Switch." After the release of 2005's Lost and Found, however, he's been focusing on acting, although he revealed in June 2018 that he had music on the way.

"I’m excited, I’m re-energized and I’m creating wildly like I used to," he said. "I’m ready. I got the beast back."

In celebration of Will Smith's storied rap career, the Boombox took a look back at his entire discography and ranked his albums from worst to best. Check it out below.
