21 Savage, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, The-Dream and More: New Projects This Week
I AM > I WAS is the sophomore effort from 21 Savage. The Grammy-nominated “Rockstar” rapper has been teasing the project’s existence for months. In support of his latest album, Savage curated Motel 21. Reflecting where he currently is in life, the art exhibit he recently held also walks visitors through the different vibes found on the album.
Although we’re in the midst of the holiday season, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie wants it to be known what time it really is. Preparing for a takeover, the “Startender” rapper delivers Hoodie SZN. Boogie, who pulled up on collaborations with the likes of 6ix9ine, Jay Critch and Mozzy throughout the year, called in a few favors for his sophomore set. Unleashed two weeks after his 23rd birthday, the album features guests like Don Q, Juice Wrld, Quando Rondo, Young Thug, 6ix9ine and PnB Rock, as well as production from T-Minus, Kenny Beats and London on da Track. Hoodie SZN follows the Bronx-bred rapper’s other 2018 releases, B4 Hoodie SZN and The Bigger Artist.
This week, singer-songwriter The-Dream returns with his latest album, Ménage à Trois: Sextape Vol. 1, 2, 3. The lengthy, three-part project features 40 songs and lacks guest appearances. The release of his sixth studio LP caps off a highlight-filled year for the Radio Killa. The mastermind behind hit records from Beyonce, Rihanna, Jay-Z and many others welcomed his eighth child, worked with the likes of Kanye West and Meek Mill and made some major money moves.
