I have always loved radio. This goes back to my childhood when a neighbor had a talk show on a Detroit station. I would go down to the station with him, watch and listen to him, and think "I want to do that one day!" I started out with a radio class in high school, interned at the neighbor's station, and then continued in college. Unfortunately, like most new college graduates, I had bills to pay, so I took a job in sales instead of following my passion. After a few sales jobs over a ten year period, including an Internet start-up that didn't work out, I took time to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, and would make me happy while doing it. This led me back to radio. I went to Specs Howard to get reacquainted with the industry and while there, did yet another internship at WWJ 950AM. From there I got my first break reporting the news for a group of radio stations in Big Rapids, Michigan. My claim to fame while there? I was standing next to United States Senator Carl Levin who was in town speaking when two college students ran up and threw a pie into his face. I had gotten the audio too! No one else there had pictures or video. Fox News, ABC and others called and asked for it. After about 15 months there, I wanted to come back to this side of the state where my family and friends are, and take on a new challenge. In September 2011, I was hired in as the News Director here at WFNT 1470. I am happy to be here, look forward to working in the Flint community, and helping to make WFNT the media presence I know it can be!
