Black Simon and Garfunkel Perform One Direction on ‘Jimmy Fallon’

It's been a really long time since we had the willpower to stay up and watch 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' -- it's past our bedtime and all. But when we manage to catch the show, one of our favorite bits to watch is Black Simon and Garfunkel, portrayed by members of Fallon's house band The Roots.

Sitting at his desk with a large box to his side, Fallon held a piece of paper in his hand as he read to the audience. "This is from Kerri Wells. She's asking: Jimmy, I love Simon and Garfunkel, but I really love Black Simon and Garfunkel," read Fallon from what looked to be a piece of fan mail. "Could you have them on?"

And we're sure, much to Wells' amusement, Fallon proceeded to take out a faux album cover from behind his desk that featured Black Simon and Garfunkel and give them a proper introduction, as he would to any visiting performing artist. "So here to perform a song right now, you guys, off their box set, is black Simon and Garfunkel," said Fallon.

With that, the Roots members, better known as ?uestlove and Captain Kirk Douglas, as Black Simon and Garfunkel, stood in front of their microphones dressed in black, and began to sing One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful' ... in the style of the real Simon and Garfunkel, of course.
