Miami Dolphins receiver Chad Johnson was arrested on Saturday in Davie, Florida for head-butting his wife during an argument.

And on Sunday, he was released by the team.

The fight started when wife Evelyn Lozada found a box of condoms in his car.  Johnson then head-butted her in the car when the couple arrived at their driveway.

He claims that they accidentally knocked heads while arguing.

His reality star wife star went to the hospital with a cut on her head and Johnson was arrested for domestic violence.

He was released from jail on Sunday after posting $2,500 but isn't allowed to contact his wife.

Late yesterday, Chad Johnson was released by the Miami Dolphins.

The 34-year-old Johnson had been battling for a spot on the team after a disappointing season with the New England Patriots.

Johnson was released from jail as the Dolphins took the field for Sunday's practice.

Only five days earlier, coach Joe Philbin said Johnson's roster spot could be in jeopardy if he didn't temper his freewheeling behavior. Johnson annoyed the coach by using profanity during a session with reporters.
