Chris Brown has been in and out of the courtroom over the past year or so. Today, he was back in front of a judge once again to attend a status hearing in Washington, D.C., for hitting a man last October.

The troubled entertainer rejected a plea deal in connection with the assault, TMZ reports. His bodyguard also declined the plea deal. The prosecutor assigned to the case offered to reduce the charge to simple assault, however Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, turned down the reduced charges.

Three months ago, Brown and his bodyguard were thrown in jail and charged with misdemeanor assault for reportedly breaking a man’s nose during a fight that occurred at 4:30AM outside the W Hotel in D.C.

At the time of the incident, the ‘Loyal’ singer was already on probation from a 2009 case in California for assaulting his girlfriend at the time, Rihanna. Due to what happened in Washington, D.C, his California probation was revoked. The ‘X’ creator also entered rehab for 90 days beginning in November and was ordered to perform 24 hours of community service weekly.

Apparently authorities have surveillance video of the D.C., incident, but won’t release the footage to Geragos. He refuses to cut any sort of deal for Brown without reviewing the video first.
