Chris Brown avoids another trip to the courthouse as he reportedly settled a lawsuit with a woman who claims the singer assaulted her in a Las Vegas hotel room.

The case stems from a civil suit filed by Liziane Gutierrez, who alleges that Brown or someone in his entourage attacked her during the singer’s hotel after-party at the Palms Casino Resort. Ms. Gutierrez claims that Brown or someone in his camp hit her in the right eye and then another person took her phone during a confrontation in his hotel room.

Gutierrez was suing for battery, theft and defamation over Brown calling her an “old-looking bitch" after the incident.

For the record, the Las Vegas police has cleared Brown of any criminal wrongdoing in the case. The singer has also denied ever hitting the victim.

However, for the civil case, Brown is in "preliminary talks of settling it for $70,000" but sources say that Gutierrez will most likely get less than that, reports TMZ.

Reps for Chris Brown have no comment on the matter.
