President Donald Trump continues to rub people and celebrities the wrong way. Chris Brown is among those who are not happy with his presidency. On Friday (July 28), the R&B singer went on his Instagram page and slammed President Trump for his comments about “roughing up” thugs during his speech with New York law enforcement officers.

During his controversial speech, Trump urged Congress to dedicate more funding to border enforcement and support police “like our police have never been supported before.” He then talked about "roughing up" thugs and suggested that police don’t be nice to them.

"When you see these thugs thrown into the back of a paddy wagon. You see them thrown in, rough. I said, 'Please don't be too nice,'" he said. "Like when you guys put those guys in the car and you are protecting their head. The way you put their hand on their head. I said,'you can take the hand away, okay," he added, as the crowd erupts in a huge applause.

Brown took issue with these comments and roasted Trump. "WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F---?????! HE GIVING POLICE MORE RIGHT TO F--- UP YOUNG BLACK MEN!! S--- IS CRAZZY!!! this is not how u make peace or any kind of help. Please wake up people."

While many of his followers supported Brown's comments, some pointed out that Trump never mentioned race in his speech. "He [didn't] say "BLACK PEOPLE". I don't like him, but what he Said in the Video, is right. It doesnt matter if Black or white, but someone kills somebody, they dont deserve to be [treated] good."

Another person wrote, "We know he didn't say black people... he said 'thugs' but normally when you hear the word 'thugs' and think of a race you think of the black race more than any other race. That's all, Chris was basically simplifying it. But tbh we are ALL TARGETS."

For the record, law enforcement officials denounced President Trump's speech. New York City Police Department Commissioner James P. O'Neill issued a statement on Saturday (July 29) disagreeing with Trump's stance. "To suggest that police officers apply any standard in the use of force other than what is reasonable and necessary is irresponsible, unprofessional and sends the wrong message to law enforcement as well as the public," he said.
