The Lions have made it official, Titus Young will no longer be a part of the team.  The Lions decided to release Young outright, rather than try to test his value by trading him.

Things got ugly for Young and the Lions this season after he sucker punched a teammate, and was sent home by Coach Schwartz for unacceptable behavior.  Young tweeted some bold statements to his 8,000 followers in late January that helped make the Lions decision an easy one.

Seriously, he only has 8,000 followers?!  I know accounts for inanimate objects that have more followers than that. I'm not even going to go in on the Hall Of Fame Hashtag business either.

The move to release Young was pretty much decided when he lined up in the wrong position on purpose against the Packers.  The Lions are losing a potentially great number two receiver, but it's the right move considering the baggage that comes with him.

The Lions have some defensive work to do in the off season, but should go into the 2013-14 season expecting much better than last season produced.

In a hilarious article posted by the Detroit Free Press, Young reportedly told his old high school coach that he thought he was just as good as Calvin Johnson!  Good riddance.

Quick side note question . . . who is your favorite all time Lion?  Without a doubt, Billy Sims is mine!
