Did Jose Valverde Throw A ‘Spitball’ Against The Reds? [Video]

Jose Valverde is getting some heat over a video that shows him possibly throwing a "spitball" in the Tigers win over the Reds on Sunday.

Some of 'Papa Grandes' defenders are saying that it was bubblegum, but I don't think that will fly.  Check out the video for yourself, and see if the Tigers closer got a little sloppy.

The pitch was a four-seam fastball that came up and in. Pitchers have traditionally used spit to make the ball sink or drop.

No word on whether or not Major League Baseball has seen the video, but they usually don't react very kindly to acts like this.

Maybe if Valverde spent a little more time on his pitching and less time on his hair he wouldn't have to do something like this.
