So you’ve just won more money than you know what to do with and are faced with the question, “What do you do first with all this money?”

You might be surprised to find out that a little more than half of all lottery winners do the same thing.

A Lottery operator survey found that half of all lottery winners move to a new home within three months of winning.  24% of them get a house in a gated community, and 9% get a place that’s on a river or lake.

After a new place to live, home improvements were the next most popular way to spend money.  29% got a hot tub, 28% put in a walk-in closet, 22% installed a game room, 16% got a gym and 12% put in a bar.

30% of people hired a cleaning person, while some decided for a pet with 22% of lottery winners got a dog but only 4% got a cat.

Boston Celtics fans are pretty hardcore to begin with, but when you teach your daughter to swear at the TV…something is wrong. This Dad isn’t doing anything out of the ordinary, he’s watching his favorite NBA and yelling at the TV.

Only problem here is his little girl is copying everything he says, so it’s probably not a good idea to yell ‘F**king Travel’ in front of her.

Marvin Winans

Detroit pastor and gospel singer Marvin Winans was assaulted and carjacked yesterday afternoon at a gas station on the city’s west side. He told reporters that four or five young men followed him from inside the gas station and attacked him while he gassed up his vehicle.

Winans said he wasn’t seriously hurt, but planned to seek medical attention. The suspects fled with an unknown amount of cash and Winans’ SUV.

Winans thinks his attackers didn’t recognize him. He is pastor of the 4,500-member Perfecting Church on Detroit’s east side.

Someone posing as a police officer may be pulling people over in Mississippi and killing them, after two similar shootings this month, cops are asking for the public’s help.

Both shootings were in very rural areas, and both victims pulled over voluntarily and had no car trouble. Cops say if Mississippi drivers see blue and red lights behind them, but think something seems wrong, they should call 911 and verify that a real officer is pulling them over.

Not too long ago the Maybach Music Tour stopped by the Pontiac Silverdome for a big show.  Last week Maybach Music Group held a press conference to reveal album release dates and the signing of Omarion.  That is a lot to have going on in just a short time.

Club 93.7 is putting a call out to all the average (and below average) bowlers to join the Club 93.7 Bowling League at Grand Blanc Lanes.

We want to hang out with you Thursday nights for some bowling, drinking and whatever else happens!  Ian, LV, Clay and B-Ray will be bowling against you every week, which is a good thing for you!

First let’s just get one thing straight . . . the Club 93.7 Bowling league is not a 82 week, serious bowler, get your Roy Munson on type of league.

It’s a chance for all of us to hang out, have some drinks and some friendly competition.  Not to mention the fact that you’ll have the chance to win cash and prizes every week!

At the end of the 10 week league we will also be giving away a trip to one of the Summers hottest concerts.  The more you bowl (more not better) the better your chances are of winning.

So if you’re the kind of person that’s ever stolen shoes from an alley, this is the league for you!  Here are the specifics.

WHEN:  Thursday Nights (League starts March 15th)

TIME:  Bowling starts at 7pm with warm-ups shortly before

Manny Pacquiao has decided his next fight and it’s not Mayweather, It’s Timothy Bradley. I don’t wanna take anything away from this fight but ask yourself a question. Do you really even care to watch this fight?

I’m a fan of boxing and as of late I feel as if the only major stars are Manny and Mayweather, but they won’t fight! And that upsets me. Give the fight people wanna see. Quit beating around the bush and line up the fight!

Spoiler alert:  Nicki Minaj makes out with Nas in the video for ‘Right By My Side’, even though she doesn’t look very happy about it.

I’m not sure what exactly the dynamic is in this video, but I do know that I was shocked to see Nas within the first 30 seconds of it.

Chris Brown makes his cameo to sing, but Nas seems to play the lead roll in the video.

I can’t believe it’s taken this long for ‘Coppercab‘ to get a good auto tune remix of his rant about gingers not having souls.

Luckily there are some amazing people out there, and they are named ‘The Gregory Brothers.’

The bonus part of the new auto tune ginger rant is that there is a dance now, including a tutorial on how to do the dance.

I don’t know if this kid will ever win the world over to the side of gingers, but I do know that the Auto Tune makes his plea sound much more convincing.

From the network that brought us ‘Sharktopus’ and ‘Ice Spiders’, comes another straight to DVD smash, ‘Piranhaconda!’

I think at this point ‘SyFy’ is almost trying to make their movies so incredibly bad, so people almost have to watch them.

At one point in the trailer, the actors are explaining the mix of Piranha and Anaconda type animal that is trying to eat them.  One of the people says, “Oh you mean the Piranhaconda?!”  Followed by another actor saying, “I can’t believe you just said that.”

It was almost like he was taking the words out of every viewers mouth.

Move over ‘Avengers’ because ‘Piranhaconda’ comes out in June and there is only room for one at the top.

A new study found that people are more likely to tell the truth over a text message than in a voice interview.

Does this mean that all you have to do when you need to know the truth is send a text?  Probably not, because liars will be liars, but it definitely shows that people are more likely to give up sensitive information over a text message.

Researchers ran a study to see what people did when sensitive questions were asked on text or through voice. They also analyzed reactions when a human or a computer asked the questions and how the presence of other people affected the answers.

RESULTS:

People were more likely to give sensitive information through text messages than in the voice interviews.

It seems that texting might lower a person’s tendency to hide the truth or to present themselves in the best possible light.

This was also the case when the participants knew that they were communicating with a human interviewer on the text.

McKinley Middle School

The votes are in. Last night The Flint Community Schools’  Board of Education voted to close four schools Wednesday night.

The schools effected by the 7-1 vote are Holmes and McKinley Middle Schools along with Bunche and Summerfield elementary school. 7th and 8th graders will attend the district’s three high schools. The closures go into effect this summer.

When the Brooklyn Nets unveiled in April their black-and-white logo, which was approved by part owner Jay-Z, it drew a wide range of reactions. Particularly, from New York Post sports columnist Phil Mushnick who felt Jay was “urbanizing” the basketball team.

The logo with its royal crest is simplistic by design, according to Hov. “I wanted to make it really classic and strong; a throwback to Brooklyn and what we’re about,” Jay-Z tells MTV News about the image. “It’s real gritty and we’re not about flash — well, sometimes. Just the roots of Brooklyn as this very bold, strong, simple logo.”

We are surprised that MTV didn’t ask Jay about Mushnick’s response to the logo, and his inflammatory column about him and his basketball team. In it, the writer suggested that the other team owners take the urbanizing to the extreme. “Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N—ers? The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B—-es or H–s. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!” he wrote in his column.

We can only assume that like his anthemic hit ‘Dirt Off Your Shoulders,’ Hov simply brush those opinions off his shoulders and kept it moving.

In the end, Jay-Z’s inspiration for the logo came from the vintage New York transit system signage of yesteryear. “It was really a take off the old subway signs, if you look at the old subway signs they were in black and white,” he says. “It was that strong, beautiful, iconic black and white. I wanted to pick something that would stand the test of time and be here forever.”
