Kevin Ferguson, or Kimbo Slice as he is known to the fighting world, passed away suddenly Monday night at the young age of 42.

Kimbo made his name by posting insane street fight videos on YouTube in 2003, and quickly became a viral sensation.

He later joined the professional fighting ranks, and eventually made it to the UFC through the Ultimate Fighter show.

Slice ended his fighting career in Bellator, where his final fight turned into a forfeit due to steroid usage.  Bellator CEO Scott Coker talked to TMZ about Slice saying,

We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family. One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport

TMZ reported that Slice was rushed to a Florida hospital late Monday night, and died shortly after arriving.  The rumors are that he suffered from a heart attack, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

When the news started circulating around the web, most people were convinced it was another death hoax.  Sadly, there was no hoax.  RIP Kimbo Slice.
