Today is voting day and there are plenty of things you'll need to know before you head to the polls.

The excitement around this years mid-term elections is at an all time high. Some people have even said that it has the same feel as a presidential election.

The most important things you'll need to know are where you vote and what you're voting for. You can get those questions answered by the Michigan Voter Information Center here. They even have a section with voter tips if you need more information.

There are three big propositions on the ballot that all Michigan voters will be voting on.

Proposal 1 is about legalizing recreational marijuana, and you can get more information here.

Proposal 2 is concerned with who will be drawing district voting areas in Michigan. More information can be found about Prop 2 here.

Proposal 3 is all about voter registration. You can see the details here.

We will also be deciding seats in the House and Senate along with electing a new Governor.

Everyone's ballot will be a little different depending on where you are voting, so make sure to check out a sample ballot specific to you here.
