Flint Soldier Joseph Lilly Is Killed In Afghanistan
Another local soldier has lost his life while serving our country in Afghanistan.
Sergeant First Class Joseph Lilly of Flint died Thursday on a medical flight from Afghanistan to Germany.
ABC12 is reporting that he was injured on Tuesday by an IED while on patrol with the Second Striker Brigade.
The Carman Ainsworth graduate was serving his first tour of duty in Afghanistan, but had also served in Iraq.
Joseph Lilly was only 25 years old, and is survived by his wife and three year old son. Club 93.7 will keep you up to date on any fundraisers or support events that are set up for his family.
In the meantime we will continue to keep Josephs family in our thoughts and prayers, and we hope you do the same. I just wish instead of terrible news like this, we would finally get out of Afghanistan so we could have more homecomings like this.
