The Michigan State Police Department is sending four of their newest graduates to Flint to help patrol the streets.

The four new officers will have to complete their final step of training in Trooper Recruit School later this month.

While Flint is slowly pulling itself out of the financial crisis that has loomed over the city, the crime rate seems to be increasing.  The city is already nearing last years homicide total, and it's only July.

The new officers are a much needed addition to Flint and Genesee County, and hopefully they will have a positive impact when they hit the streets in a few weeks.
