Duncan Robinson became the fastest player in NBA history to make 500 three pointers.

Take a minute to think about all of the great shooters we've watched over the years in the NBA. Former Michigan standout, Duncan Robinson has now secured his spot in the history books among those great shooters. Robinson is not the fastest player to make 500 three pointers in NBA history. It only took Robinson 152 games to reach the milestone.

Robinson hit his 500th three Saturday night in Cleveland on the way to a Heat win. Robinson has 222 three pointers this season alone, which is fourth in the league.

When you think about all time great shooters names like Bird, Reggie Miller, and Ray Allen all come up, but none of them are in the conversation for fastest to 500. Mostly because the NBA they played in did not revolve around the three point basket the way it does now. Check out the names on the fastest to 500 list, and you'll see what I mean.

  1. Duncan Robison - 152 games
  2. Luka Doncic - 187 games
  3. Damian Lillard - 199 games
  4. Donavan Mitchell - 208 games
  5. Klay Thompson & Buddy Hield - 214

I think the biggest shock is that Steph Curry is no where to be found on the list.

The Heat took time to honor Robinson for the accomplishment with the video above, but also made a little fun of him with a later tweet.

The accomplishment is really something to be celebrated though considering Robinson was not even expected to make it in the NBA.

Everyone knew he was a great shooter and clutch player at Michigan, but most teams passed on him as a potential difference maker. Robinson ended up finding a spot with Miami after playing with them during the NBA summer league. Check out some of the moments that helped launch Robinson's NBA success.
