The story of Harry Potter may or may not have reached its conclusion, but another part of J.K. Rowling's wide world of magic is just turning its first page.

This morning (September 28), The Ellen Degeneres Show released the first full-length trailer for the forthcoming Potter-spinoff story Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne. The movie, set in 1920s New York City, follows Redmayne's Newt Scamander as the magizoologist (person who studies magical creatures) struggles to recapture those that have escaped.

And struggle, he does.

In the clip above, Newt searches high and low for the monsters — some, small and seemingly innocuous, others drum up firestorms and literally rip up roads. Plus, all the while, international warfare looms. Magic: It's hard sometimes!

Fantastic Beasts also stars Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell and Katherine Waterston. J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay, and told The BBC in a 2013 interview she couldn't have imagined someone else tackling the story.

"Having lived for so long in my fictional universe, I feel very protective of it and I already knew a lot about Newt...I liked him so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favorite characters from the Harry Potter series, Luna Lovegood," she said. "I always said that I would only revisit the wizarding world if I had an idea that I was really excited about and this is it."

Watch the Fantastic Beasts trailer above, tell us what you think and catch it in theaters on November 18.
