Tigers ace, Justin Verlander, has received the teams nomination for the Roberto Clemente Award for the second time in three years.

Each year the award is given to the Major League player who best represents the game of baseball through positive contributions on and off the field, including sportsmanship and community involvement.

JV is getting the nomination for his extensive work with veterans in Michigan as they battle with the medical issues resulting from their service.

Verlander tweeted about what the nomination meant to him.

Make sure you go vote for Justin Verlander HERE before October 6th.
