Good news and bad news for Mariah Carey. First the bad news: the R&B singer’s E! reality show Mariah’s World was canceled. The good news: Mimi is working on another reality series with VH1. Talk about a comeback.

According to Page Six, Mariah is working on show centering on the 20th anniversary of her 1997 album, Butterfly. The Grammy-winning singer is embarking on a tour next year to celebrate the LP’s two-decade release and VH1 will be there to film all of the behind-the-scene preparations.

TV insiders said that Mariah's E! reality show had the highest-rated premiere in the network's history, but declined in viewership with the later episodes. “The show opened as one of E!’s top-rated premieres ever and then dipped drastically in Episode 2. If the show did well, they would’ve definitely ordered more episodes,” said a source.

But don't worry, Mariah is not crying any champagne tears. In fact, the R&B mom has a slew of projects in the works, including a new Christmas single and a possible return to Las Vegas for a concert residency.

Meanwhile, Mariah Carey will be honored at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors: The '90s Game Changers event, which airs tonight (Sept. 18) on VH1 at 9PM ET.
