It's no secret the area around Burton's Courtland Center Mall has struggled for some time. Now, that tide is turning.

Two new, big-name retailers are opening for Burton and eastern Genesee County, MI on Court Street.

The company is expanding rapidly in Michigan. There's a second location coming to Genesee County, too. We first reported that yesterday.

The third location for Michael's is Coming to Burton

The "makers" destination as Michael's refers to itself, will open their latest location in Mid-Michigan this May, according to MLive.

The new store will be located across the street from Courtland Center.

It's in the Courtyard Plaza which includes Home Depot and Big Lots.

Renovations inside the building are just getting underway but shouldn't take too long.

The new store will be located between Big Lots and Empire Wok, the Chinese Buffet restaurant.

The grand opening will feature giveaways, free crafts and more. A Linden Road associate told us they believe the store is targeted to open in May.

Two locations have been around the greater Flint area for several years. One at 3268 S Linden Rd, Flint, MI 48507. The other at 18055 Silver Pkwy, Fenton, MI 48430

Remembering the Grand Opening of AutoWorld in Flint, Michigan

A short-lived Six Flags theme park, AutoWorld was supposed to be a tourist destination in Flint. Sadly, after several starts and stops, AutoWorld was imploded in early 1997. The land is now owned by University of Michigan-Flint and is home to the William S White Building.
