Just in time for the holiday travel season, gas prices in Michigan are expected to drop to an acceptable rate within the next few months.

According to GasBuddy.com, motorists across the state will likely experience some much needed savings at the pump before Thanksgiving, with fuel costs expected to plummet to less than $2.00 per gallon before Christmas.

This drop will happen gradually across the entire nation, but with experts predicting Michigan's prices to be somewhere in the $1.99 range before December, it is conceivable that many folks may find it more affordable this year to spend their holiday travel in the car rather than rely on any other form of transportation.

“We’re confident that our projections give consumers more than accuracy; we think they’ll help them identify some savings that should come in handy at Thanksgiving and Christmas,” Patrick DeHaan, senior analyst for GasBuddy, said in a statement.

Now, if we just get some of the other everyday costs down, some of us might be in better economic shape.
