Michigan Man Films Himself Nearly Getting Struck By Lightning [Video]
Did you know that Michigan is one of the deadliest states in the nation when it comes to Lightning strikes? Tom Leaf almost found out the hard way while filming a storm in Shiawassee County.
Tom's footage above shows the raw power that a lightning strike can bring. He seems to be filming at a safe distance when all of a sudden, a bolt slams into the ground RIGHT NEXT TO HIM!
Tom was lucky, and now he is talking about his run in with Mother Nature to help promote National Lightning Safety Awareness Week.
Experts say it always best to not take chances where lighting is concerned – seek safe shelter immediately if weather conditions become favorable for lighting.
So throw the hopes of gaining some sort of super power by getting struck by lightning, because most of the time it ends up something like this.
