History reveals that beer is responsible for the development of civil society, and from the looks of a recent study, that hasn't changed in the state of Michigan.

According to a recent report from American Beer Distributors, the United States brewing industry is an important part of the national economy – producing billions of dollars in tax revenue and supporting nearly 2 million jobs.

In Michigan, which is ranked 8th in jobs and 14th in economic impact, the brewing industry is responsible for creating around 35,000 jobs, billions in tax revenue and, perhaps, most importantly, contributing over $6.5 million to the local economy.

Therefore, if you drink beer on the regular, you are providing working class citizens with continued employment. If you woke up hung over this morning, you are setting them up with overtime.

What's more American than that?
