The war of words between Ghostface Killah and Martin Shkreli wages on but fellow Wu-Tang Clan member RZA may find himself on the same team as Shkreli in the courtroom. Artist Jason Koza has sued RZA, Shkreli, Cilvaringz and Paddle8, the online auction startup where the Once Upon a Time in Shaolin album was sold, for using his art without permission.

According to Bloomberg and other reports, the $2 million album's accompanying 174-page booklet includes Koza's portraits of the nine Wu-Tang members. The artist claims that he made the drawings of the Wu members for the fan site WuDisciples.blogspot.com in late 2013 and early 2014. On Jan. 29, he saw an article posted on Vice titled "Everything I Know About the Wu-Tang Album from Hanging Out With Martin Shkreli" that included his portraits of Raekwon, Inspectah Deck and Ol' Dirty Bastard and proceeded to apply for registration with the U.S. Copyright Office on Feb. 1.

The artist filed a complaint in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, Feb. 9 and is seeking unspecified damages from RZA, Cilvaringz, Paddle8 and Shkreli for infringing copyright and for violating an implied contract with the artist. "Mr. Koza was happy when his work appeared on the website," the complaint said. "Mr. Koza never granted a license for his works to be copied or displayed anywhere (else)."

According to the New York Daily News, if Koza wins, the lyric book to Once Upon a Time in Shaolin could be impounded or destroyed. Koza "is obviously flattered that (Wu-Tang) loved his work so much," his lawyer Peter Scoolige said. "But it doesn't change the fact that he didn't give them permission."

The court records show that Clivaringz emailed Koza in April of 2014, saying that he had a question related to "the one copy album RZA and I are doing."

The artist agreed to talk to the Wu-Tang producer, but did not hear back from him until Jan. 31, 2016. "Let me know if you want to Skype discussing the use of your drawings. Thanks bro." The two have still never talked.
