Governor Rick Snyder recently signed a bill banning direct sales of Tesla in Michigan after being urged by General Motors.

The bill signed by Snyder started out as an amendment to a law that allows dealers to tack on additional fees to the purchase price of a car.  Additional wording was added into the bill that worked to prohibit the direct sale of Tesla in Michigan.

This whole thing really makes no sense.  No car buyer wants the dealer to add fees to the price of the car right?  Tesla Motors would most likely bring jobs and competition to our state in the end, so why ban them?

You can still go online and buy a Tesla if you like, but you can't buy a reasonable explanation for this decision.  Maybe Snyder is worried about people doing stuff like this if Tesla comes to Michigan.
