The day after the Oscars, everyone is a member of the Academy of Criticizing the Oscars and giving out -- or not giving out -- awards for everything and everyone that was part of the evening.

And we’re no different. We watched the show, took a little time, and now we have our opinions. We also watched the internet and we have your opinions too.

After a rather entertaining open to the 2013 Oscars, host Seth MacFarlane clearly didn’t want it to end with just the hurried list of sponsors and the usual “let’s get to your local news as quickly as possible even though we just sucked 4 hours of your life away” attitude of the closing.

How do we know that? Because he made sure there was a really awesome closing song.

Eddie Murphy Hosting The Oscars?

If anyone knows something about movies, its Eddie Murphy. His IMDB filmography stretches from here to the moon (slight exaggeration).

It makes complete sense that he would host films biggest awards show, the Academy Awards, this fall.

This is an effort to return to basics — in other words, have one funny act head up the entire ceremony. In years past, the Academy has experimented with different hosting ideas, without much success. The tipping point was this year that saw actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway emceeing what many called a disastrous show.

Oscar Winners: 'The King's Speech' Reigns, Portman Soars

There weren't a whole lot of surprises at the 83rd Academy Awards -- as expected, "The King's Speech" took the big prize as Best Picture. The film about King George VI overcoming his stutter also garnered a Best Actor statue for Colin Firth and a Best Director win for Tom Hooper.

"King"'s four statuettes tied "Inception," which also nabbed four awards in technical categories, for the most Oscars.

Oscar favorite Natalie Portman also took home the Best Actress statuette for her role in "Black Swan," and Melissa Leo and Christian Bale of "The Fighter" cleaned up in the supporting role categories.
