Mr. Big Shot, Chauncey Billups. was honored by the Detroit Pistons last night as his jersey was retired.

Chauncey and his family were on the Palace court last night as his iconic number 1 was raised into the rafters, next to the championship banner he helped win.

Chauncey was the leader of the 2004 champions, and he had a special message for the crowd as his number was raised.

Lastly, before I go, I know I played on a lot of teams, for a lot of organizations. I’ve been all over. I, have no doubt about it. I will always and forever be a Detroit Piston.

The Pistons retired Ben Wallace's jersey about a month ago, and now Chauncey thinks it's time for Rip Hamilton to join them.  In a press conference before the ceremony he addressed Rips jersey by saying,

Rip has to be next. I would love for him to be next week, next month. Rip Hamilton holds so many records here. He had a long run here. He did a lot of great things in the community here. I’m looking forward to that day

The Pistons agree that Rip will be next, but unfortunately it looks like time may be running out to organize a ceremony this year.

Most people are campaigning for Prince and Sheed to join them in the rafters of the Palace next year too.

In the meantime, check out the 10 best plays from Mr. Big Shot as a Piston.
