A ruling that could help save Flint water customers from getting shut off, means that the city of Flint will need to find a way to replace that revenue.

Circuit Court Judge Archie Hayman sided with the water customers on Monday. He agreed water rates were raised improperly in 2011.  This means that the next water/sewer bill that Flint residents receive will be about 35% lower than normal.

Flint city officials are already working on mounting an appeal to the decision, so the bill break may be short lived.  In the meantime, the city has put an immediate freeze on spending.
