A base jumper from California almost died after crashing into a cliff during a botched leap from Table Mountain in South Africa and he got it on video.

The 35-year-old broke both of his legs and had to be airlifted to the hospital after the horrific 120mph smash. The world famous stunt artist was being filmed for a television documentary at the time.

The stunt man jumped from the flat surface of the mountain and started flying towards the sea… but he didn't completely clear a mountain ledge so his legs smashed into a rock face. He finally deployed his emergency parachute when he realized something had gone wrong.

After he was airlifted to a hospital he went into surgery to fix both of his legs. He also needed skin grafts. He's due to get out the hospital this week.
