So count YG as someone who's taken joy in LaVar Ball's apparent dismissal of President Trump, who reportedly helped to get the Big Baller Brand promoter's son LiAngelo and a few of his UCLA basketball teammates out of a Chinese jail. Before we completely jump into that, though, here's a little background.

A little while back, UCLA freshman guard LiAngelo—the brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie/occasional rapper Lonzo Ball—and some of his UCLA teammates were arrested for shoplifting in China. A few days later, President Trump reported that he was working on getting the Ball brother out and back to the U.S.—and he apparently did, after calling up China's General Secretary of the Communist Party,  Xi Jinping.

While LiAngelo gave thanks to the controversial president, his father LaVar did no such thing, and feigned dismissive confusion when asked about President Trump's good deed. "Who?" he said after a reporter asked about the entire ordeal. President Trump aired out his grievances against the boisterous LaVar in a predictably petty fashion, using his Twitter account to address LaVar's perceived disrespect.

"Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!" wrote Trump.

Responding to Trump's tweet, YG, who famously dissed Trump with his early 2016 track, "FDT," served up an icy quote tweet. "Played yo dumb ass," he wrote.

Interestingly, Lil Yachty recently dissed President Trump while saying he didn't think the president played any role in getting LiAngelo out of the dog house. You can watch LiAngelo giving thanks to Trump at the 2:50 mark of the video beneath the tweets below.
