Amine Remixes Tierra Whack's "Hungry Hippo"

Aminé has flipped Tierra Whack's Whack World cut, "Hungry Hippo," for his first release of the year.

Opting to remove the percussion on the Nick Verruto-produced track, Aminé keeps some elements of the song similar and offers a male perspective to Tierra's original hook.

"She likes my diamonds and my pearls/I said, 'Thanks my girl designed it,'" the 2017 XXL Freshman sings. "Aminé might just steal your girl /If you call me Trey Songz, I don't mind it!"

On the original hook, Tierra says, "He likes my diamonds and my pearls/I said, thank you I designed it/Not your average girl/He needed swag and I provided!"

Later in the track, the OnePointFive artist takes a dig at his peers who are spending their coins on all the wrong things."My nigga why you fucking your commas up?/ Spending a grand on lunch," he croons. "You gon' be broke with that kinda stuff/You ain't even bought your mama shit/But you gotta spend cause you wanna look rich," the Portland, Ore. star spits on the song.

In related news, Tierra Whack's "Mumbo Jumbo" video is up for Best Music Video at the 2019 Grammy Awards. The Philadelphia native will go up against Joyner Lucas' “I’m Not Racist,” The Carters' “Apeshit,” Childish Gambino's "This Is America” and Janelle Monáe's “PYNK” when the ceremony goes down in Los Angeles on Feb. 10, 2019.
