There's a really cool Halloween-themed event that's coming to the Leslie Science & Nature Center in Ann Arbor that will give guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with nocturnal animals.

Animal Haunts: Nature’s Nightlife is a family-friendly event that will feature Leslie Science & Nature Center's nocturnal animals including owls, bats, spiders and more.

Bring the kids out for spooky, slimy, science experiments, or simply stay warm by their campfire. you can also earn prizes as you complete a scavenger hunt through the woods, searching for clues of animals that thrive in the dark.

When and where is this event happening?

The event will take place on October 30 and will have two start times at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for individuals or $35 for families. Leslie Science & Nature Center is located at 1831 Traver Road in Ann Arbor.

According to their Facebook page, guests may stay for the whole event, but arrival times are staggered to help keep participants spaced while exploring indoor activities. Masks for participants 2 years and older are required, regardless of vaccination status.

Make sure the kids arrive in costume and they bring a bag to use to collect non-candy prizes at each station.

It's always tough to find cool and unique things to do with your kids around Halloween. I think this is very unique and as a bonus, your kids will actually learn something. Hell, you might too.

It's not every day that you get to interact with real live creatures of the night.
