Flint's own, Anthony 'The Dog' Dirrell, is fighting to get his Super Middleweight Belt back Saturday night.

Dirrell won the belt five years ago only to end up losing it a year later. He was supposed to challenge for the belt again but a host of injuries prevented his shot. Now the belt has been vacated and Dirrell is the number one contender. He's facing the number two contender on Saturday in one of the biggest fights of his career.

We all know the incredible story of Dirrell's perseverance and toughness. He has fought through more things outside the ring than most of us will ever face.

Dirrell has always represented Flint, even bringing pro boxing back to The Dort Federal Event Center two years ago. This will be the first fight for Dirrell in almost a year, but considering he is 34 that could be a good thing.

Dirrell is definitely the favorite to win Saturday night, despite being nearly 10 years older than his opponent. If Anthony can bring home the belt again, it will be a crowning achievement in an already great boxing career.

There are going to be many watch parties in and around Flint, including at Mo Pete's Sports Retreat. Things get started on FS1 around 10pm.
