George Blaha has been the voice of the Detroit Pistons for as long as most of us have been alive, so in honor of his 71st birthday we have 7 great Blaha moments.

For my money, announcers don't get much better than George Blaha.  His signature style is recognizable from the moment he says, "Two and Twenty Two left on the game clock."

Who else could deliver a, "Right handing, left side . . . dribble drive off the corner of the window for the bucket!" like Blaha?

With that in mind, let's start off the 7 great Blaha's with a classic call from George.

During the amazing run that the Pistons had in the early 2000's, it was felt like Blaha was a part of the team.  He had nicknames for all of the stars, and was genuinely a part of the team.  One of the great examples of that was when George walked through the traditional pre-game routine with Rip Hamilton.

George's relationship with the team didn't stop after that hall of fame group move on.  Check out the video below where the newest Pistons star, Andre Drummond, gives Blaha some love during the pre-game.

George always takes time out to recognize Pistons fans from around the entire state of Michigan, and the world.

Blaha is a Michigan man through and through.  Not as in the University of Michigan, considering he also does play by play for Michigan State Football.  He grew up in Michigan, and often will check out High School games.  Check out Blaha doing the starting lineups for a Beecher / Holly game a few years ago.

Finally, George is just the right amount of a homer.  He never goes overboard with his favoritism, but when something needs to be called out, Blaha is on it.

The next two videos demonstrate that perfectly!

Happy Birthday George.
