Dame Dash Goes Off on Lawyer in Deposition Video, Calls Him a Culture Vulture: Watch
Dame Dash is mad as hell and he’s not going to take it anymore.
On Friday (Nov. 22), TMZ published a video deposition of Dame arguing with an attorney who is asking him questions related to a lawsuit against him over the movie, Dear Frank. According to the media outlet, the 50-minute deposition took place on Thursday.
In the clip, Dame is clearly agitated at the questioning by the plaintiffs’ attorney, Christopher Brown, and calls him a “culture vulture.” In one moment, Dame is looking at Brown and vows that he will never be a lawyer again. "I’m going to ruin you as a lawyer,” he seethes. “I'm just giving you rope to hang yourself."
At one moment, the former Roc-A-Fella Records founder gets up and angrily paces back and forth. When he sits down he continues to bash Brown. “I want people to know how disgusted I am,” he says. “I’m human bro. I get people like this trying to rob me every day with a straight face. And they don’t care about the culture they only care about themselves.”
Dame then claims that Brown, who is a Black man, will "sell his whole culture out for a dollar."
When Brown balks at Dame for answering his cell phone during the deposition, the one-time Roc-A-Fella exec claps back at him. "Stop crying, you’re a lawyer,” he says.
In another video, Dame criticizes Brown's sweater. In the end, Dame was simply not in the mood for a deposition.
As for the lawsuit, the 48-year-old executive is being sued by the director of Dear Frank and the production company. They claim in their suit that Dame, who was initially tapped to direct the film, tried to market and distribute the project under a different name, causing confusion in the marketplace.
