Dej Loaf is back with the follow-up to her And See That’s The Thing EP. The Detroit rapper returns with a new mixtape titled All Jokes Aside.

The former XXL Freshman's new project features 11 tracks with a lone guest appearance by Silkk The Shocker. Production is handled by Sonny Digital, Izze The Producer, DDS, KLVN, iRockSays, Carrington Brown and Kharri.

Dej Loaf says that growth and maturity were major driving forces in the creation of this project.

"There comes a time in a girl’s life where she becomes a young woman," Dej Loaf says of her inspiration for the mixtape. "It’s called growth, it’s called maturity, it’s called living life to the full potential and being true to who you are. That’s what I represent. I feel good about everything that I am doing right now, because it is what I want to do. Not what anyone else wants me to do; it’s what I want to do. I’m in charge. I run my show. It feels damn good."

Dej Loaf is not slowing down after this mixtape's release either as she is currently in the studio working on her debut album. There's no timetable for that LP yet, but expect to see it later this year on Columbia Records.

Outside of the new music, Dej Loaf is also scheduled to perform at the 2016 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. The Detroit rapper will share the stage with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, MC Lyte, Jidenna and BJ The Chicago Kid.
