Earlier this month video footage of a Detroit teacher breaking up a out of control fight hit the internet.  The public school district decided to fire the teacher who tried to defuse the situation.  Common sense has now prevailed.

On Tuesday morning, a spokesman for the Education Achievement Authority revealed that Tiffani Eaton has been reinstated after further review.  Along with being reinstated, Eaton will receive retroactive pay since the incident caused her to be out of work.

The brave teacher will have her choice of returning to Pershing High School or get reassign to another school in the district.

Students at Pershing welcome Eaton back with open arms.  The students even support her choice if she decided to teacher elsewhere, according to CBS Detroit.

“It’s a good decision because it was like, you know, she had no other choice. I’m glad she got her job back,” said one student.

I think we are all relieved that common sense prevailed in order for Eaton to continue teaching at Pershing High School.  From the video, her intent was to break up the fight to ensure the safety of all students.  Tiffani Eaton should be held a brave teacher stepping in and making a difference.
