A takeout pizza was an accomplice when Lions receiver Nate Burleson broke his arm, and DiGiorno Pizza has decided to give Nate a years worth of pizza to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Nate broke his arm getting into a crash last month while trying to prevent a pizza from falling out of his car seat.  That prompted DiGiorno to send Burleson a letter with the free pizza offer.

Hello Nate,

We hope you are feeling better after your recent car accident and are on the road to recovery! DiGiorno Pizza understands the challenges that come with carryout and delivery so we’re sending you a gift along with a year supply of DiGiorno pizza so you can skip carryout.”

Burleson showed off his new coupons on Instagram:

Burleson also threw them a shout out on his Twitter account.

I don't think the pizza will help with the recovery, but it was definitely worth the time for Nate and Lions fans.

Burleson is hoping to be back on the field for the Lions by November 10th when Detroit takes on Chicago.
