Crews are working hard to fix a water main break that has part of First Street closed down in downtown Flint.

The water main burst late Thursday afternoon, closing First between Saginaw and Harrison.

The water main break poses more problems than just a closed down road.  Power has to be shut off in the area before crews from the Flint Water Department can do any major work.

The area will be dealing with intermittent power outages over the next few days while the break is repaired.  There is no definite timeline as to when the road will be back open for traffic.
