The Gatorade High School Boys Basketball Player of the Year, Ypsilanti Lincoln HS star Emoni Bates, will not reclassify or transfer and will remain at Ypsi Lincoln for his final two years of eligibility.  That's according to the his father, who said so to the Detroit News.

Bates led the Railsplitters to the Division 1 state title as a freshman in 2019, and had 19-3 Lincoln in the Division 1 district finals before the season was stopped because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 6-9 Bates has been compared to Kevin Durant for several years now, and speculation has grown that he could bypass college to head to the NBA (if the NBA changes their one and done rule). or head to college for one year before entering the 2023 NBA Draft.

Michigan State and Michigan (amongst others) are heavily recruiting Bates.
